Kyeon Mi Ri’s legal representative, Daeho Law Firm, stated on the 17th that “Unfounded and irreparable news regarding Kyeon Mi Ri and her family has been reproduced to an unbearable extent, so we would like to express our stance to correct this properly.” They revealed their position on the past controversies that have recently been brought up in the media.
Kyeon Mi Ri’s camp explained, “The alleged stock price manipulation case by Lubo, which reportedly victimized more than 300,000 people, including suicides, had nothing to do with Kyeon Mi Ri, her husband, or her family.” They also added, “Kyeon Mi Ri and her husband were clear victims of the multilevel fraud case involving JU, and they have nothing to do with the Lubo stock price manipulation case that JU personnel committed.” Furthermore, they clarified, “The reports claiming that Kyeon Mi Ri’s husband took 26.6 billion won (~$20.5 million) from Corebit’s capital reserves and used it for personal debt repayment are not true. Although Kyeon Mi Ri’s husband borrowed 500 million won ($384,000), he repaid it a few months later, so he never accumulated wealth by taking Corebit’s money.”
The legal representative also clarified the source of the family’s wealth. They shared, “Kyeon Mi Ri and her family are being accused of enjoying money through criminal means with no guilt and having an expensive house in Hannam-dong. The house they are staying in was built through the hard-earned money of the actress for more than 30 years of being in the industry. They also warned about the false articles, blog posts, and videos that were uploaded. If it is not corrected or deleted, they will officially take legal action.
In their last statement, the legal representative apologized for conveying the rumors once again. They also revealed that they will no longer tolerate the rapid spread of false information that is affecting the family and their loved ones. They reiterated that they will strictly correct and respond to the issues.
