Introducing the players of The Secret Romantic Guesthouse
by tccolb
Now that promos are in full swing, SBS released a new teaser for their upcoming sageuk The Secret Romantic Guest House, presenting our story’s four leads: Shin Ye-eun (The Glory), Ryeoun (Through the Darkness), Kang Hoon (Little Women), and Jung Geon-joo (Kiss Sixth Sense).
With Yoon Dan-oh (Shin Ye-eun) as our capable heroine and experienced boarding house manager, we can expect a deliciously fun love square (or is it a web?) to develop when three new scholars take residence in her home. But there are hidden secrets and mysteries lurking amid our three men as well, which will certainly spell trouble for all of our protagonists.
Opening on nanny Lee Mi-do (The Fabulous) and long-time lodger In Gyo-jin (Love All Play), the new teaser puts the two in helicopter guardian mode, spying on the newcomer trio who the captions label as Candidate 1, 2, and 3. Nanny asks if he’s able to see them and he whispers back that he can envision Dan-oh in her wedding dress. The appearing text screen announces that: “The flower scholars are coming on March 20.”
But first, we need to be introduced to the “refreshingly cheeky” Yoon Dan-oh, who is described in voiceover as fearless, unstoppable, and free-spirited. We then transition to the “can’t-help-but-love” Kim Shi-yeol (Kang Hoon). Ever the charmer, he tells Dan-oh that she’s pretty and asks, “If you like it, would you want to get married to this orabeoni [me]?”
The next suitor, Jung Yoo-ha (Jung Geon-joo), is captioned as “heading straight to you like a storm.” Dan-oh admires him for being kind-hearted and he’s quick to ask her, “Can you make time for me sometime? I have something to tell you.”
The teaser then ends on our last but not least “heart racing push and pull” of Kang San (Ryeoun). Although he tells Dan-oh that she looks ugly when she cries, we close on his confession that he was really worried that she might get hurt.
With scripts by Kwon Eun-mi (Woman with a Suitcase) and PD Kim Jung-min (Queen: Love and War) at the helm, The Secret Romantic Guesthouse will be launching next month on March 20.
