Won Ji An’s Contagious Charm Depicted in the Stills from the Upcoming K-drama “Heartbeat” MGG

The KBS series Heartbeat (directed by Lee Hyun Suk and Lee Min Soo, with the screenplay penned by Kim Ha Na and Jung Seung Joo) released stills of Won Ji An, who plays the role of Joo In Hae in the upcoming fantasy rom-com. 

With her radiant smile and skill to seamlessly express diverse emotions, Won Ji An exudes a sophisticated charm. 

In the K-drama, Joo In Hae is a part-time nurse at a high school and the owner of a guesthouse. Her ordinary life takes a turn when she finds a mysterious coffin with vampire Seon Woo Hyeol (Ok Taec Yeon) sleeping in it for almost a century, in her basement. 

Ahead of the drama’s premiere, Won Ji An expressed her confidence in the series, stating, “I firmly believe that viewers will find this work fun and comforting”. Regarding the similarities between herself and the character in the drama, she said, “Whether I do well or not, I always strive to work hard. The only difference is that she has much more vitality than me”.

Won Ji An emphasized how she incorporated “active communication with the director” while portraying Joo In Hae. She shared, “Even before the production began, I engaged in discussions with the director regarding the initial character development”. She added, “As it is a work that includes elements of comedy, we decided not to take it too seriously and aimed to enjoy the filming process ourselves”.

The actress also shed light on Joo In Hae’s character traits, stating, “She fearlessly speaks her mind, even in situations that may be daunting or disadvantageous. She is a woman with great courage”. 

Finally, Won Ji An conveyed her enthusiasm for the K-drama, commenting, “As Joo In Hae’s first love unfolds, her life undergoes significant transformations. One word to perfectly describe this is Heartbeat“. With her unwavering passion and dedication to the role, she invites viewers to join her on this emotional and heartwarming journey.

Heartbeat is set to premiere on June 26. International fans will be able to stream the K-drama on Prime Video.
