Jo Hyun-chul, Bang Hyo-rin, Honey Lee, Jin Seon-gyu

Netflix announced that the period comedy Aema has entered production, headlined by Honey Lee (One the Woman), Bang Hyo-rin (Hail to Hell), Jin Seon-gyu (The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch), and Jo Hyun-chul (Inspector Koo). Written and directed by filmmaker Lee Hae-young (Phantom), the series dives into the South Korean film industry during the 1980s and offers a fictional account of the making of real-life 1982 erotic film Madame Aema, which sparked a renaissance in the genre. Jun (a.k.a. Lee Jun-young) (May I Help You) is considering an offer to become Pyo Ye-jin’s (Taxi Driver 2) cynical prince charming in I Openly Dream of Cinderella. The rom-com is still in the early stages and is planning to release on an online platform in 2024. As we head into premiere week, more promos have been released for TVING’s CEO-dol Mart, reuniting our once-idol boys to become grocery pushing shopkeepers in the new teasers found here and here.
