On The Wings Of Love Episode 1
Someone once told me love is like a bird. And if you are going to love someone, you should love the way a bird should be loved. Take it, care take of it, put it in a cage and love it with all your heart. But if he wants to leave, if he wants to fly away, don’t stop it, let it go. If it truly loves you, it will return to you. Leah and her sister Tiffany play hide and seek. Leah gets angry at her father for startling her. She tells him they were playing a game. He tells her he also playing the same game. Their mother arrives with the good news. Her US visa has been approved. She can work in the US. They all celebrate except Leah. Rona already has a plan, she intend to bring her family to join her in the state as soon she can. Leah doesn’t understand why their mother wants to relocate in the States. Rona explains to her little girl that life is much easier over there. She assures her little girl she will be much happier over there. Leah wants her mother to promise her she will come for them as soon as possible. Rona tells her daughter that if she takes good care of her pigeon, it will love her in return. Even if she set him free from the cage, it will come back to her. It is just like the love she feels for all of them.
No matter where she goes, she will surely come back. Rona is all set to leave for the state. Her husband tells her she can always return if things don’t turn out the way she expected. Painful goodbye at the airport, Rona drags her suitcase in. Rona sent her first postcard for her family with two big boxes. Leah returns from school and realized her pigeon is not in his cage. She rushes inside and sees her father and sister crying. They inform her that her mother was involve in accident back in States and died. They all weep uncontrollably. What if the one you love, what if the bird suddenly get lost and can’t find it way home. Rona funeral rite is performed without her body. Her husband explains to his little girl that the procedure was too complicated and expensive. Two little boys argue over a pigeon, am suspecting it the Leah’s pigeon that went missing. The younger one Jiggs breaks it wings and the pigeon can’t fly again. Clark asks him to be careful if not he will hurt him again. Jiggs doesn’t understand why Clark is protecting the pigeon. Just as I thought, they notice that it belongs to someone. Guest what the pigeon had an ID card on it. Clark decides to treat the pigeon wound before returning it to the owner. Jiggs rather thinks they should ask their grandmother to cook it. Grandmother Ofie hears them and come out to check on them.
Jiggs lied to her that Clark doesn’t want him to play with his Pigeon. She informs them that their mother in the phone and asks them to come in. We are now at the Embassy of America in Philippine, don’t angry when you are denied an American visa. Clark is all grown up living in the United States now. He hopes to one day have his green card. Leah wants to take advantage of their competition in the States to visit her mother’s grave. Leah and her family had to leave their house because the bank closed it after they fail to pay them. After getting her visa she returns to the house and admire it. Leah and her sister try to convince their family to take his drugs and go to his doctor’s appointment.
He is not ready for a long distance relationship. He asks Leah to choose between him or going to America. He informs her that once she stepped into the plane it is over between them. Leah doesn’t give him an answer so he breaks up with her walks away. Clark skype with family in Philippines, his grandmother feels he has lost a lot of weight. Jiggs walks in and Clark asks to speak with him. Leah tries to call Jiggs but he refuses to pick her call. Tiffany wonders if she is not tired of being in a relationship with Jiggs. They always fight, breaks up and reconcile. Jiggs takes his frustration in his brother Clark. Leah agrees with Tiffany but the reason why she sticks with Jiggs was because they had the same dream of going to the States. She always wanted to go there and fulfil their mother dream. She thought Jiggs will support but she was wrong. Tiffany tells her guy like Jiggs are meant to be forgotten. Clark aunt surprise him with dinner in his apartment. She knows he has been working very hard and deprived himself of everything. He assures her he can take care of himself. She agrees but reminds him that he send everything he earns in the States to his family. Clark tells her they need it more than him. Jacqueline tells him he needs a wife to take care of his house. Over breakfast, Leah tells her sister Jigg’s mother went to the States as an immigrant.
Today she is doing so well and even petition Jiggs to join her. Tiffany hopes she is not thinking of becoming an immigrant. Leah tries to convince her to see the bright site of working in the States. Soliman hides and eavesdrops on their conversation. Leah made the same promise their mother made to them before she left to the State. She is willing to give all of them a good life even it if means she has to be an illegal immigrant. Soliman interrupts them and reminds Leah that he allowed her to go the States because of her completion. He feels offended, though they are not rich, they always have food on the table. She assures her father that she is grateful for everything but she wants to fulfil her mother’s dream. She reminds him that he once wanted them to relocate in the States. He tells her he lost that dream when they made it impossible for him to claim his wife’s body. Tiffany speaks to her father on behalf of her sister. She wants him to allow Leah to fulfil her dream. He tells her they are all has, he doesn’t want to lose any of them again. Soliman explains to Leah that he doesn’t want her to work in the States. He is scared something bad might happen to her just like her mother. He gives her his permission; however she has to return as soon as her visa expired. The day for Leah to leave is finally here. Everyone wishes her safe journey expect Jiggs who doesn’t show up. Leah is finally in the States with the rest of her choir. She can’t believe her dream has finally come true. She accidentally runs into Clark’s arm and they stare into each other eyes with her hand around his neck.
