Lee Jae-wook, Jo Boa

  • A new mystery-romance sageuk called Tangeum (Romanized title) is being planned with Lee Jae-wook (Alchemy of Souls) and Jo Boa (Tale of the Nine Tailed) in talks to headline the series as half-siblings. In childhood, the younger brother had mysteriously disappeared and now, ten years later, he has suddenly returned home. PD Kim Hong-sun (Bait) is attached to direct with writing by Kim Jin-ah (Dr. Brain). [Sports World, Xports News]
  • Hwang In-yub (Why Her) and Jung Chae-yeon (The Golden Spoon) have reportedly been cast in A Prefabricated Family (roughly translated, working title). Adapted from the hit Chinese drama Go Ahead, the coming-of-age story about finding family and love will have scripts by Kim Shi-young for the Korean remake. [MBC]


Hwang In-yub, Jung Chae-yeon

  • In another busy week for casting announcements, Oh Jung-se (Uncle) has been tapped for the rom-com Mr. Plankton, potentially joining Woo Do-hwan (Joseon Attorney) and Lee Yumi (Mental Coach Jegal). Production is still in the planning stages and, if Oh accepts, it’ll be his second time working with the rom-com’s writer Jo Yong, after It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. [JTBC]
  • Go Ah-sung (Tracer) has been cast in TVING’s new romance sageuk The Love Story of Choon-hwa (working title). In the lead role, Go will be playing a princess on two important missions. She needs to find the artist who dared to use her face in a racy drawing and to also find a husband of her own choosing, rather than marry a match her father has made. [Star News]


Go Ah-sung

  • Not that I’m complaining, but we are swimming in sageuks as of late and another one on the horizon is KBS’s The Battle of Marriage (roughly translated). The rom-com currently has offers out to Jo Yi-hyun (All of Us Are Dead) and Kim Ro-woon (Tomorrow). The rom-com will be penned by Ha Soo-jin (Sell Your Haunted House) with PD Hwang Seung-gi (Memorials) at the helm. [Star News]
  • Choo Young-woo (Oasis) is considering the medical drama Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour for his next project, playing a student to the character currently offered to Joo Ji-hoon (Jirisan). The original webnovel is written by real-life doctor and YouTuber Lee Nak-joon, who modeled the story on the famed general surgeon Lee Guk-jong. [Star News]
  • Over on JTBC, The Good Bad Mother is gearing up for its premiere next week and the last round of promos include new stills and a new teaser. Starring Ra Mi-ran (Dr. Park’s Clinic), Lee Do-hyun (The Glory), Ahn Eun-jin (The One and Only), and Yoo In-soo (Alchemy of Souls), the series will be launching on April 26. [JTBC, News1]
