Renata asks little Abigail not to worry because mummy will protect her. 3 months later; it is time to return to the ranch. Bruno asks Renata to give the child to Macaria her mother. He also reminds her she is to stay away from the child. Constanza is eagerly waiting and arranging the house to welcome Renata. They all can’t wait to see the baby. Constanza feels bad she won’t be able to call the baby her granddaughter. She has no idea how she is going to console Renata. Constanza prays to God to give her strength to convince her husband to rectify this injustice. Diego rushes in and informs them about the arrival of the boss. The three rushes outside to welcome Renata and the baby. Amanda wonders why her daughter didn’t come along. Constanza also notices the baby did not come along. Bruno asks her to calm down; Macaria will come with the baby later to avoid suspicions. Helena brings tea to Fausto and sees him all dressed up. He tells her it is all for Renata, he is going to the ranch to meet her. Macaria takes the baby to Fausto’s house and tells Helena she is her baby. Fausto joins her and he asks her the same question. She tells him the baby belongs to her and he is the father. Helena runs out and cries, Macaria tells Fausto Helena is in love with him. She reminds him that Helena is his late brother’s wife and the mother of his nephew and as such he has to respect her. She asks Fausto to carry their daughter. He refuses and tells her the child is not his. Macaria knew he was going to say that. She tells him though he may not believe her but he is the only man she ever had in her life. Fausto is not a fool, he knows the child belong to Renata. Constanza takes her daughter to her room and they chat about Abigail. Renata can’t believe her father will make her renounce her daughter. Constanza tries to defend her husband. Renata tells her Pablo is the father of the child, she is sure he never betrayed her. She can feel it in her heart and her heart won’t lie to her. Constanza tells her Pablo disappears, and no one knows about his whereabouts.
She tells her daughter Abigail will need her as Macaria will not raise her like she will. Constanza apologizes to her daughter for not able to reserve the situation. Fausto tells Macaria it was his idea to make her register Abigail under her name. Macaria wonder why, he tells her Abigail is his ticket to manipulate Renata after the wedding. Macaria thought he will not marry her when finds out about Pablo. He tells her she thought wrong, the proposal still stands. Macaria tells him he doesn’t love Renata, Fausto doesn’t know the meaning of love. He is only interested in Bruno’s estate after that Renata and her daughter can go to hell. Bruno calls his lawyer to make some changes in his will. Constanza enters and wants to know about the changes he tells her she will when he dies. She tries to make him change his mind about Renata and her baby. He asks her to keep quiet, Constanza confront him, she tired of keeping quiet. She reminds him they are not his workers he controls. They are his family and he can’t treat them like prisoners. The truth is hard for him to handle that he almost has a heart attack. Constanza gives him his pill and calls the doctor. He tells her to stop because the doctor cannot do anything for him. Macaria finally comes home and runs into her mother. Renata comes out and sees them going to their room. Fausto shows up and tells him her secret is safe with her. Renata apologizes, Fausto want to know how he can help her. Renata tells him nothing, he tells her he can help her with the baby. Renata tells him she lost the baby; Fausto knows the baby with Macaria belongs to her. She denies, he tells her she can lie to anyone but not him. He wants to know what happen with her pregnancy. She tells him her father… he interrupts her and tells her he can help her get her daughter back. He tells her he loves, and wants her to marry him. They will tell anyone the child belongs to him.
Renata tells him she doesn’t love him. Fausto tells her little by little she will love him. Here comes the bride, Bruno walks his daughter to the aisle. The priest declares them husband and wife. Bruno has another attack and collapse. He asks his daughter to forgive him, everything he did was he for own good and died. Mel shows up with the bouquet of flowers and watch Constanza and her daughter cry over Bruno death body. He drops the flower beside Bruno, the priest pray for Bruno’s soul to rest in peace. The village mourns the death of Don Bruno, they all gather at the cemetery to bid their farewell.
Just like Constanza predicted, Macaria will never raise Abigail like Renata will. She practically ignores the girl. Amanda tells her she feels sorry for Constanza, she hasn’t eaten since Bruno’s death. Macaria tells the death of Bruno could not have come in the better moment. It ruined Fausto and Renata wedding. Amanda feels the only good thing about his death is that Renata can claim her daughter. Vicenta interrupts them and informs Macaria she is needed in the big house. The lawyer wants her present at the reading of the will. Helena and her son Mateo chat about Renata and Fausto and other stuff. The lawyer reads Bruno’s will in the presence of Macaria, Renata, Constanza and Fausto. Bruno left his entire fortune under the care of Fausto under the following conditions: Fausto is to take good care of his wife Constanza and daughter Renata. He has to make sure they lack nothing and continue to pay them what they always get. Renata and Constanza are not to leave the hacienda under no circumstance. Macaria should also be paid every month to take care of Abigail. Renata should be given the opportunity to get closer to the baby in the ranch. He wants her to be Abigail Godmother during her baptism to continue the legacy of the family. Renata gets up and leaves the office, Fausto runs after her. Renata is pissed off because Bruno is still destroying her life though he is dead. Fausto suggests the get another lawyer for a second opinion. He asks her to go to the garden, she runs into Mel. They end up chatting about Pablo; he gives her the charm he gave to Pablo for protection. He tells her it will also protect her, Renata tells him about the lie they told her.
Mel tells her Pablo never accepted any money from Bruno. He tells her Pablo is already dead. Fausto takes over the workers in the ranch and appoint Lucio as the new foreman. The priest sees Constanza crying in the church and approaches her. She tells him about the injustice Bruno did to their daughter that lead her to marry Fausto. She doesn’t trust him and feels he is only interested in Bruno’s fortune. She is so sure her daughter is going to be unhappy with Fausto. The priest suggests she goes for confession. She accepts but tells him they don’t deserve God mercy. Macaria brings Abigail to Renata for a visit. Macaria suggests she takes Abigail and run away, after her doesn’t’ love Fausto. Renata tells her she has no money and Fausto has been good to her. Macaria tells her Fausto doesn’t love her, she careless about her and Abigail. He only married her for money. she tells him Fausto was the brain behind registering Abigail under her name. Renata doesn’t believe her. Macaria tells her Fausto is not what she thinks he is. She is sure Fausto killed Pablo.
