Choo Young Woo will reportedly work with Im Ji Yeon in the upcoming historical K-drama The Life of Mrs. Ock.
Media sources reported on November 9 that Choo Young Woo will possibly star in his first-ever historical K-drama after two years since his debut. According to reports, Choo Young Woo has been picked to be the male lead of the upcoming JTBC K-drama The Life of Mrs. Ock.
Choo Young Woo’s agency J Wide Company responded to the casting reports. According to the agency, Choo Young Woo is in positive talks to star in the historical K-drama.
If Choo Young Woo confirms his casting, this will be his third upcoming K-drama project. The actor is set to lead the Netflix original series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call with Ju Ji Hoon, Yoon Gyung Ho, Ha Young, and Jeong Jae Kwang. He will also join another Netflix upcoming K-drama Mercy for None together with popular actors So Ji Sub, Ahn Kil Kang, Lee Bum Soo, Gong Myung, and Heo Joon Ho.
In 2023, Choo Young Woo starred in the series Oasis. He has appeared in several K-dramas since his debut such as Once Upon a Small Town, School 2021, Police University, and You Make Me Dance.
The Life of Mrs. Ock will revolve around a female slave in the Joseon Dynasty. The story will showcase her survival and success journey despite faking her name, status, and even her husband.
Im Ji Yeon first got the offer to star in The Life of Mrs. Ock. The actress received the offer to play the role of Goo Deok, the female slave who faked everything and tried to live a new life as a mistress.
Choo Young Woo got the offer to portray the character named Song Seo In. He came from a prestigious family. He is known for being reckless and romantic when it comes to love. He will change after meeting Goo Deok and being involved with her in several circumstances.
The upcoming K-drama The Life of Mrs. Ock will exclusively air on JTBC.
