The political action-drama film Hunt was recently invited to the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF), which will be held on April 11.
According to the sources, the film festival invited the action movie to the non-competition section.
The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival is one of the world’s top three fantastic film festivals (festivals specializing in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and action genres), along with Spain’s Sitges Film Festival and Portugal’s Fantasporto Film Festival.
Previously, Hunt was also invited to the Orbita section of the 55th Sitges Film Festival and obtained positive reviews from the local audiences.
Furthermore, the Lee Jung Jae starrer was also screened at 47th Toronto International Film Festival, Fantastic Fest 2022, and the 36th Fantasy Film Fest. The movie also got an official invitation from one of the most renowned film festivals in the world – the 75th Cannes Film Festival (2022) – to its non-competitive Midnight Screening section and recieved a seven-minute standing ovation.
Hunt was also a local box office hit in South Korea and became the fourth highest-grossing Korean film of 2022 by collecting gross $36,114,055.
The movie drew keen interest from the audience as it marks the debut of Lee Jung Jae as a screenwriter and director. Apart from directing, starring, and penning the screenplay, he also co-produced his own film.
The synopsis of the movie is as follows.
When the KCIA Foreign Unit Chief Park Pyong Ho (Lee Jung Jae) and Domestic Unit Chief Kim Jung Do (Jung Woo Sung) are tasked with the mission to find a North Korean spy within the intelligence agency, an unusual series of events unfurl with each side raising doubts on the other.
Set in the 1980s and inspired by true events, Hunt is an action thriller with shocking twists, intense action, dramatic investigations, wild shootouts, and an extensive conspiracy.
The movie also casts Jeon Hye Jin, Heo Sung Tae, and Go Youn Jung in the lead roles. Hunt is available to stream on Prime Video and Apple TV.
