News bites: January 25, 2023

  • What starts as an ordinary mishap becomes a scary nightmare when Chun Woo-hee (Be Melodramatic) loses her phone in the Netflix movie Unlocked. As seen in the newest posters, said phone becomes a central part of our story, allowing Im Shi-wan (Summer Strike) to gain access to everything. But, it’s not yet clear how his dad and cop Kim Hee-won (Big Issue) is involved. The mystery-thriller releases this coming February 17. [News1]
  • We have a sea of stills to get through today and SBS presented us with lots of Lee Je-hoon (Move to Heaven), our knight in taxi armor. Coming to our screens on February 17 as well, the crime-action Taxi Driver 2 co-stars Kim Eui-sung (Under the Queen’s Umbrella) and Pyo Ye-jin (VIP) with Oh Sang-ho penning the scripts and PD Lee Dan (Our Beloved Summer) at the helm. • As Disney+ wraps up the first season of Big Bet today, they confirmed that Season 2 will be coming next month. Continuing the story with Choi Min-shik (In Our Prime), Sohn Seok-gu (Our Liberation Notes), Lee Dong-hwi (Glitch), and Heo Sung-tae (Bait), the first three episodes will be unveiled on February 15, with future episodes once a week on Wednesdays thereafter. • In the newest stills for tvN’s Our Blooming Youth, we can feast our eyes on more Park Hyung-shik (Sountrack #1) and Jeon So-ni (Dr. Brain), along with a peek at King Lee Jong-hyuk (Bad Prosecutor) and the current Queen Hong Soo-hyun (Red Balloon). With the premiere just over a week away, the sageuk romance will finally get working on lifting our prince’s curse on February 6. [Sports Chosun (1), (2)]

  • Netflix’s rom-com Love to Hate You is just around the corner as well, premiering on February 10. With a jumble of tropes at their disposal, we should be in for a fun ride with Kim Ok-bin (Dark Hole) and Yoo Teo (Dr. Brain) bickering their way to love. In the new stills, we also get a look at our second leads and supporting cast, including Kim Ji-hoon (Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area), Go Won-hee (Revolutionary Sisters), Lee Joo-bin (Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area), and the ever beautiful Kim Sung-ryung (Kill Heel).
