With the release date and first teaser out, Welcome to Samdalri has finally relieved fans from the hard wait. Now, the K-drama tantalizes with new teasers, giving a glimpse of what’s in store.

Welcome to Samdalri tells the story of Cho Yong Pil (Ji Chang Wook), a weather forecaster from the small town of Samdalri on Jeju island, and Cho Sam Dal (Shin Hye Sun), an ambitious woman from the same town returning years after she left for Seoul.

The first teaser poster depicts the enduring friendship of Cho Yong Pil and Cho Sam Dal, who have been inseparable for many years.

Yong Pil and Sam Dal are true buddies, born 5 minutes apart on the same day in Jeju. From their early years to middle school, high school, and even university, they have been inseparable.

The Polaroid photos in the poster are a testament to this. The pics preserve the moments when they made happy memories and gathered with each other’s families, giving a warm and fuzzy feeling.

However, their friendship, which seemed like it would last a lifetime, has come to an unexpected pause. They haven’t been in contact for years after an incident left their relationship severed.

But, their memories, which they accumulated over the past 30 years, are not something they can easily forget.

When Sam Dal — who left the town determined to never return — comes back to Samdalri — where Yong Pil still resides — the story of these two friends embarks on a new chapter.

Welcome to Samdalri is not your typical drama with conglomerates, chaebols, or over-the-top elements. It is a story of the everyday lives of ordinary people.

Directed by Cha Young Hoon (Uncontrollably FondWhen the Camellia Blooms) with the screenplay penned by Kwon Hye Joo (Go Back CoupleHi Bye, Mama!), Welcome to Samdalri promises to be a feel-good rom-com which will keep us hooked till the end.

Welcome to Samdalri will premiere on December 2, taking over the time slot of Strong Girl Namsoon. The K-drama will be made available on Netflix.
