Aldonza shakes her aunt and cries for her to wake up; Christobal tells her it is too late. Adelina killed herself but Aldonza refuses to listen she keeps shaking her to wake up. Emmanuel informs Don Antonio and Veronica about his intention to return to their ranch that very night. They refuse to let him go alone and offer to go with him, Christobal asks Don Camilo to inform Father Jeronimo. Lola comes to the priest to check on Emmanuel, he tells her Emmanuel is fine but he is more staying with him. Lola asks him where he went, he tells her to Don Antonio and his niece. She asks him why did he allowed him to leave but the priest reminds her Emmanuel is not a child. Don Camilo interrupts their conversation and breaks the news to him. Christobal sits on the opposite and watch Adelina death body then watch the pills on the table. He asks Don Camilo to make arrangement at the funeral home because he can’t leave alone. Lola decides to inform Emmanuel before he leave Santa Lucia, he tells her she can find him where Don Antonio is staying. He wants to be alone for a moment before he goes to see Aldonza. When Lola leaves the priest asks God for answers. Flavia joins Joaquin in the hall and help him pick Ray’s toys on the table. She takes advantages and kisses him but he stops her.
He tells her not to misinterpret things; she is only here because of Ray. She begs for another chance but he says no he doesn’t love her anymore. Valeria informs Severiano she has already spoken to her father. He asks her and she says he didn’t say anything but she left him thinking. He tells her not to get her hopes high; her stupid father won’t change his mind. He loves them more than his own child. Valeria asks him to trust her she will get El Santuario for him. Valeria comes out of his room and meets Candela standing at the hallway. Candela asks her to explain to her what she was doing in her husband bedroom. She tells him she only came to wish him good night. Candela asks to listen to her very well, she forbid her to enter his room again. Especially at night, Valeria tells her it is not what she is imagining; Candela tells her she isn’t imagining anything. Candela tells her Dominga was right and asks her to stop entering people’s room especially the men. Valeria asks her not to worry; it won’t happen again and tries to leave. Candela asks her if she has seen Christobal, she says no if he doesn’t tell his mother where he is going. She won’t be the one he will tell and walks out of Candela. Uriel and Mari ask Irma what wrong with her since she is not eaten and looks sad.
She tells them nothing, starts crying and runs off. Lola arrives at the hotel in time to meet with Emmanuel, Don Antonio and Veronica at the reception. She begs him not leave town because Aldonza needs him. He tells her it is not true but Lola assures him she is needs him very much because Adelina just died. Don Camilo informs Christobal, the priest and Aldonza that the police, funeral home and even Renato all here. The priest begs Aldonza to let go of her aunt body but she refuses. she tells him she will hold her until she wakes up and asks the priest to asks Adelina to wake up because she only listen to him. Christobal join the priest to beg her to let go of the body but she refuses and hugs her thigh. Christobal and the priest manage to take her away from the body; she hugs her uncle and cries uncontrollably. Lola asks Emmanuel how can she lie to him and assures him it is the truth. Emmanuel asks her what happen, she says she doesn’t but begs him to come with her to the house. Don Antonio asks him not to worry and Emmanuel leaves with Lola. Irma finally confesses to her family about the loan she took and the possibility of losing her shop. Dominga tries to calm Candela down but Candela keeps telling her she should be Christobal’s priority. Christobal walks in and she asks him where he is coming from. She breaks the news to them and they both look shock, he tells them she committed suicide. He tries to leave to change his dress but Candela asks for more details, he tells them what happen and leaves.
Dominga also asks permission from Candela to attend the vigil. The priest and Aldonza come home and meet Lola and Emmanuel, Lola quickly goes and hugs Aldonza. Emmanuel also gets up, they stare into each other eyes for a moment then he rushes into her arm. He assures her she can always count on him; he is going to be there for her because she is his sister and asks her to forgive him. Aldonza tells him she was also his aunt, they both lost her. Emmanuel nods his heads in agreement and kisses her forehead before hugging her again. The priest interrupts them and asks Aldonza to get ready for the wake; Lola offers to go with her. Dominga and Melesio mourn Adelina’s death, Dominga tells him she is very worried about what will happen to Aldonza. Melesio calls Joaquin to breaks the news to him, he doesn’t say anything but tears start flowing down his cheek. Flavia hears him and asks him what the problem is; he doesn’t reply but keeps crying. Lola consoles Aldonza back in the room, Aldonza wonders why her aunt, why her aunt who was like her mother. She doesn’t understand why she decided to commit suicide because she has already confessed all her secret to her. Aldonza blames herself for what happen. She feels if she didn’t insist on returning to Santa Lucia all this won’t have happened. She forced her to come back, she forced her to live in this house, she forced her then Lola interrupts her. Dominga enters Christobal and asks him what happen. He tells her he doesn’t know, and narrates to her what happen. Lola calls Irma to inform her about Adelina death, it seems she committed suicide.
She tells him she knows her mother will be capable of killing herself but Adelina no. she wonders if Severiano didn’t kill her and made it look like a suicide. It makes sense, she and Don Camilo weren’t home, but the priest begs her to stop. He tells her it is not the right time to blame anyone and assures her Renato is taking care of everything. Severiano is in severe pain and can’t even hold a glass properly; Candela comes in and asks him where he was. He tells her at the bar but she doesn’t believe him, and tells him about Adelina’s death. Aldonza tells Christobal about her suspicious but Christobal tells her she is wrong. She tries to explain but he also tells her it is not the right time. She tells him at this point she doesn’t want to say anything about his family. Christobal understand and walks out of the church, Dominga leads the rosary. Severiano takes his gun out of the drawer. Prudencia calls Valeria and assures her daughter God is already pushing Aldonza for all the harm she caused them. She tells Valeria that Adelina committed suicide; she thinks it is in their blood. Valeria now understand why Dominga was crying and tells her Christobal must be consoling Aldonza. Prudencia changes the subject and tells her about the ultrasound. The priest start the mass, Aldonza and Emmanuel come closer to the casket during the benediction. Emmanuel and the priest close the casket and he asks Aldonza to say her final words to Adelina. Severiano makes his grand entrance and announce himself. He asks the priest to calm down; he only came to pay his respect to Adelina.
The priest asks him to leave, Severiano agreed to leave but first he addresses the congregation. This woman who are all venerating like your Saint, she wasn’t as good as you all think. She was the accomplice of her sister Roberta, Aldonza yells at him to keep quiet. Severiano asks her if she is scared that he will tell them how her father died. Emmanuel gets closer to him and yells at him to stop. Severiano takes out his gun and point it at him, Father Jeronimo holds Emmanuel back. He tells he isn’t done with his speech, the priest asks him to put his gun down and remind him they are in the house of the Lord. Severiano tells him the gun is for her and point to Aldonza. he wants her to get rid of all the anger she feel towards him, he tells her right now she must be blaming him for what happen to her aunt. Aldonza walks towards him and takes the gun from him and point it at him. He challenges her to shoot him right now in the house of the God.
