The upcoming movie “My Name is Loh Kiwan” confirmed its official cast and will be broadcasted exclusively on Netflix.
On February 7, Netflix announced the official casting lineup of their upcoming original movie titled “My Name is Loh Kiwan.” The upcoming movie will be led by Song Joong Ki, Choi Sung Eun, Jo Han Chul, Kim Sung Ryung, Lee Il Hwa, Lee Sang Hee, and Seo Hyun Woo.
In the previous reports, only Song Joong Ki, Jo Han Chul, and Choi Sung Eun were mentioned to be leading the upcoming movie. This time, Netflix officially announced the complete cast lineup.
“My Name is Loh Kiwan” will tell the love story of a North Korean defector named Loh Ki Wan who came to Belgium with his last hope and Marie, a woman who doesn’t have a reason to live. The film will revolve around their first meeting, break-up, and their romance. The upcoming movie will base its story on the novel of the same name by Jo Hae Jin.
According to reports, the production team will leave the country within the first half of the year to start filming for the movie.
There are no official details yet on the official broadcast date of “My Name is Loh Kiwan.” The upcoming movie will exclusively be available on Netflix worldwide.
Song Joong Ki will play the role of Loh Kiwan. A North Korean defector who will have a hard time earning a status of a refugee in Belgium.
Choi Sung Eun will give life to the character named Marie. She lost her reason to live, unlike Loh Kiwan who’s struggling just to survive. She will fall in love with Loh Kiwan on their first encounter.
Jo Han Chul will play the role of Yoon Sung, the father of Marie. Lee Il Hwa will play the role of Jung Joo, the mother of Marie. Kim Sung Ryung will play the role of Ok Hee, the person who made Loh Kiwan travel to Belgium.
Lee Sang Hee will be a Korean immigrant named Sun Joo who will work alongside Loh Ki Wan in a factory in Belgium. Lastly, Seo Hyun Woo will play the role of Eun Chul, the uncle of Loh Kiwan.
“My Name is Loh Kiwan” will be the debut work of director Kim Hee Jin.
