My Dearest ‘love’ feels too weak a word, ah the constraints of language. Even if the second part goes haywire (which I don’t think it will given the high quality of everything so far), the first part alone is top class and has done the legwork to earn it the ‘drama of the year’ title in my books ⭐️ Baeksang 2024, you’ve got another thing coming for you if this drama doesn’t win at least one award lol
My Lovely Liar liking it, but unfortunately not as much as I loved it at the start. OTP going strong though, and I’m enjoying the awkwardness of that just starting to date period! Hope they don’t break up for no good reason any time soon 😡 *side eyes next week’s preview* 👁️
Destined With You has graduated from liking to ‘really liking’! It’s doing something right that’s working for me, so I’m not bothered by any of the flaws in plot or acting so far. Though, I can totally see this one either ending strong or catastrophically crashing, with no in-between. And although I’m obviously hoping for the former, is it weird to say I think I’d enjoy it even as a burning wreck potentially?
Moving has done really well to make the parents timeline just as interesting as the high school stuff honestly, because I’m equally invested in both, if not even slightly more in the parents stories now.
Peaktime is fun! honestly they should do more reality shows with established idols/idol groups rather than forming new groups (I’m looking at you Boys Planet). There’s an oversaturation of new groups in the market so why not focus on existing groups/people more? They usually already have like an existing technical foundation, as well some sense of a brand/fanbase so why not capitalise on that to build and make them successful? Feels like a win-win for fans, general consumers and agencies. MNET take notes.
A Melody to Remember: love it! Finished watching this movie the other day and WOW. I knew it’d be a lot given the subject matter but was still blown away by just how deep an impact it had on me emotionally, both while watching and post watch. Would definitely recommend, it’s brilliantly shot and brilliantly acted (especially the kids!!) – it’s set in the Korean War though and doesn’t hide the violence or trauma aspect of war so be aware of that.
One Piece (live action version): just started watching and it’s fun! I’ve not watched the anime, BUT my brother used to be obssessed with it so I’ve absorbed a bit thanks to sibling osmosis. Not enough to know how this fares in comparison, but enough to recognise characters and such – and honestly this might be one of those things that is damned if it does, damned if it doesn’t (in terms of how ‘faithful’ it is to the source material), so I reckon it’s better viewed on its own merits.
