Damian thanks the virgin because marina is still alive and he loves her and would not bear to lose her. Rebeca comments that, because of the fire, many people are going to be left without a job. Mercedes tells her that that is not going to happen because, while the packaging company recovers, she is going to try to prevent the people from being affected by it. Mercedes, worried, looks at jose when beatriz asks her how she became the owner of the packaging company; she asks her if her late husband had sold it to her. Beatriz insists on asking about the packaging company.
Mercedes tells him that she never met her husband and that she bought the packaging company from someone else. Jose tells mercedes that she has already made too many mistakes that could expose her; that the people who do not know of the bond that joins her to marina, might think that too much concern for her looks suspicious. Mercedes tells him she knows that but that she finds it very hard to control herself. Esthercita becomes upset when she finds out that damian is in the hospital because of marina; esthercita tells him she wishes marina had died because he always puts her above everything else, including her and that marina was destroying their marriage.
Damian tells her never to say that again and that that marrriage she is talking about doesn’t exist because he only got married to her to save her reputation but that he will never give her what she needs as a woman. Esthercita tells him that she does love him and that they should make an effort to make it work. Damian tells her categorically that they had better get divorced. Esthercita begs him to go on the honeymoon and that they can talk about their marriage when they get back. Damian tells her that first, he has to see if he is needed at the packaging company. Hernan, furious, complains to valdivia for having set fire to the packaging company while marina was inside; he tells him he should be grateful that she is still alive otherwise, he (valdivia) would be dead by then.
Marina tells hernan that they are going to have to postpone their plans because mrs artigas needs her now more than ever and it would be ungrateful of her to leave her now. Hernan tells her he understands and that he accepts her decision but that he will insist once she has gotten the packaging company back on its feet. Damian tells marina that she counts on his support to get the packaging company back on its feet. Hernan tells her damian cannot help her because he is going on his honeymoon. Damian tells hernan not to meddle.
Marina tells damian hernan is right. She tells him to go on his honeymoon and to forget about the packaging company and that when he gets back, she will tell him what he can do to help her. Marina tells hernan that everything was working out very well at the packaging company until the fire and that she is not going to give up, that she will have to do something. Hernan tells her she is going to need a lot of money so she should accept him as her partner.
