Introducing the big bads for tvN’s The Uncanny Counter 2
by tccolb

In a swift triple punch, tvN’s Uncanny Counter 2 delivered a round of character promos this week, focusing first on the big bad collector’s set with Jin Seon-gyu (Behind Every Star), Kang Ki-young (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), and Kim Hieora (The Glory).
In fairness, our “Revenger” Joo-seok (Jin Seon-gyu) is more of a wild card and we don’t quite know which way he’ll swing with his good/evil index split right down the middle. As a firefighter, he once saved the life of our hero So Moon – played by Jo Byung-kyu (Stove League) – and the teaser shows us how their forged bond continued, with a spirited Joo-seok volunteering alongside the superhero team.
Joo-seok’s wife had also hoped that their baby will be kind and warm-hearted, just like dad. But their family happiness is tragically cut short and Joo-seok’s dormant powers are awakened as he vows to never forgive what happened. Chasing after the perpetrators, he attacks them in full force and his teaser ends with Joo-seok’s demands to know the real truth.
Despite Joo-seok’s powers, the “Predator” Pil-kwang (Kang Ki-young) remains unfazed and walks straight into the superhero den with eerily composed ease. With a specialty in telekinesis, he ranks high in both speed and skills. But he wouldn’t dare be caught with his feathers ruffled because Pil-kwang is a cultured ~artiste~ when it comes to blood and screaming. This means there’s always time for bath time and classy paintings.
In contrast, Pil-kwang’s partner-in-crime Kelly (Kim Hieora) is all about chaos and the fun of the kill. Showing off a loud collection of fake furs, we learn that Kelly likes biting, stabbing, cutting, and other such wholesome activities. Similar to Kim Se-jung (Today’s Webtoon), she can read minds using psychometric powers as well. But while Moon is well-positioned to be Pil-kwang’s downfall, Kelly’s weakness is curiously listed as Pil-kwang.
Also starring Yoo Joon-sang (Alchemy of Souls), Yeom Hye-ran (The Glory), and Yoo In-soo (The Good Bad Mother), tvN’s Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch premieres later this month on July 29.
