Teixeira Nunes finds out that Anita is pregnant. Bento Manuel gets angry when he sees that the shooter was João Gutierrez, but he says that he’s not going to stop defending the ranch.
Damiana counsels Rosário to forget Estevão. Bento Manuel complains to the “teiniaguá,” who says Caetana won’t love another man while Bento Manuel is alive. Christmas preparations begin at the ranch. Joaquim gets angry when he sees Manuela left with Chico Mascate. Rosa fears that Joana will hate her when she finds out the truth.
