Anita is dismayed when Garibaldi tells her that Manuela is on her way. Onofre arrives at the ranch, making Rosa nervous. Inácio demands that Perpétua decide whether she wants to marry him or not. Pedro and Mariana see Inácio and Perpétua kissing and announce to the family that the wedding is set.
Angela encourages Anita to reveal to Garibaldi that she’s pregnant, but she refuses to. Mariana finds out that Corte Real hasn’t forgotten Rosário and decides to break off the engagement. Consuelo tells Manuela that her time with Garibaldi is over, but she ignores her. Garibaldi doesn’t like to see Anita fighting.
Maria wonders why Corte Real and Mariana don’t want to set a wedding date. Rosa stops Joana from talking to Onofre. Rosário is surprised to see that Estevão entered his locked cell. Garibaldi’s group attacks the Imperials but become victims of an ambush.
Anita comes face to face with Manuel, who drags her out. Garibaldi tries to stop it, but Padilha shoots him in the shoulder.
