Esthercita becomes furious when she sees marina and damian hugging each other, but she leaves without their noticing. Esthercita starts sailing the boat away and damian jumps into the water to catch up with her. Esthercita, furious, tells damian that she caught him kissing marina. Damian asks her if that is why she risked her/ his life. Esthercita tells him that she did it in order to separate him from marina and that she succeeded and that now all she has to do is to win his love. Damian tells her to stop raising her hopes because that is merely a farewell trip.
He becomes impatient because esthercita tells him that she is sure to be able to win his love and that he should not reject her. La chivis and leona tell mercedes that they saw a girl who looked a lot like the one in the photograph she showed them but, that she was very dirty, with her hair in her face and, as it was very dark, they are not really sure if she was the one; that they tried to follow her but that she gave them the slip. Fulgencio cynically tells rosario that he already told her brother, in confessional secrecy, that he is lazaro’s father. Furious, she asks him why he did that.
Fulgencio tells her that, as she threatened him to tell delfina the whole truth, he decided to prove to her that he is the one who is still in control and, that if she ever dares to say a single word to delfina about it, he will tell their son the whole truth and then he wants to see what explanation she is going to give him (lazaro). Valdivia catches lazaro spying on them so, he ties him up and takes him to fulgencio, who, without even looking at lazaro, tells valdivia he didn’t have to call him just to tell him he had caught a spy; that he should just kill him and throw the body into the sea.
Valdivia asks him if he doesn’t want to see him (lazaro) first. Fulgencio is stunned to see lazaro. Valdivia asks fulgencio if he wants them to kill him at once. Fulgencio warns him that, if they dare kill lazaro, he will kill him; that they should let him go and he forbids them to touch a single one of his hairs. Beatriz discovers that she has a tumor that cannot be removed. Esthercita continues harassing damian, begging him to make love to her. Damian tells her that he has tried to be nice to her and that she should not ask him to pretend he feels something he doesn’t.
Esthercita tells him that if he really wanted he could but that the trouble is that he is always thinking of marina. She tells him that she has tried not to harm her up to then but, that if he continues rejecting her, she will be merciless and that if he sinks her, she will sink them both with her too.
