Fulgencio furious slaps hernan accusing him of being responsible of his daughter’s death, he tells him that he was going to kill damian and he didn’t mind that esthercita was with him, hernan swears that he had anything to do with this, that he was going to get rid of damian after his trip because having him in the same business he didn’t want him as his enemy.
Fulgencio warns him that he will investigate what happened and the one responsible will pay with his life. Hernan responds that he may do whatever he pleases but that if he hits him once again he will regret it. Mayuya keeps on agitating all the people in town against marina, father tomas tells the locals that instead of keep on hearing all the gossips.
They must start praying all together for the return of damian and esthercita, suddenly at a distance, surprising everyone, damian appears walking hurt, marina runs toward him and they kiss each other, damian tells her not to suffer anymore that god wanted him to come back and he faints. Mayuya keeps on blaming marina for all the things that happen in the town, mercedes upset tells her that all these thoughts are of ignorant people and mayuya slaps her. Fulgencio tells hernan that if damian have died, all the problems for them would have ended.
Hernan assures him that he will get rid of damian and that he will hire a group of divers to find esthercita. Doctor san miguel tells marina that damian’s condition is serious, that he cannot assure her that he will live. Hernan tries to convince fulgencio that he had nothing to do with the explosion and if mercedes said that it was due to explosives it because this is convenient for her.
Fulgencio responds that mercedes would never lie to defend damian, hernan asks him since when he met mercedes artigas because he was evidently surprised to see her and it is clear that she despises him. Hernan furious tells valdivia and lara if they know what would happen if damian recovers, so he orders them to finish him tonight.
Mayuya makes plans because she is sure that esthercita is dead and thinks that everything will be for her including fulgencio. Fulgencio remembers with bitterness that michel fabre took away from him mercedes’ love, the only woman he loved and keeps on loving.
Hernan invites marina to go out for a coffee and in the meantime inspector lara makes eusebia sleep and valdivia takes away the oxygen mask from damian and puts the pillow in his face to suffocate him.
