Veronica tries to leave but Martin asks her not to. she comes closer and holds his hand and tells him love isn’t enough to keep a relationship. they need trust and understanding and she kiss him until Cresencio and his grandson interrupt them. Manuel apologizes to them. Cresencio hands over the letter to Veronica. Manuel signs it in front of them. Martin warns him not to ever get closer to his wife again if not he will rot in jail. Martin asks Manuel if he has anything to say. Manuel tries to justifies that Veronica dresses provocatively. Cresencio asks him to be quiet. he tells Martin he hopes everything remains in the past. Martin agrees but reminds Manuel of their conditions. Cresencio promises martin he will make sure Manuel keeps his words. Cresencio give Martin an update about the miners. Martin and Veronica inform him they already know that the water is contaminated with cyanide. which can be very fatal, Martin asks him when was the last time they change that filter. both Manuel and Cresencio look at each nervously. Veronica is worried that contaminated water will affect the whole village. Martin assures her it won’t. Martin wants Lorenzo to go and identify that filter but Manuel tells him he will. Manuel reaches the door and Martin asks him to wait. they have to inform the authority to start the decontamination treatment. Cresencio nods in agreement but Manuel thinks it will be too expensive. Martin tries to explain to him but Manuel won’t let him. Cresencio orders Manuel to leave, Cresencio is surprise that Martin knows so much about what is going on. Martin tells him he is engineer. Cresencio leaves but promise Martin to keep him informed and thanked them for everything. Veronica tells Martin she is glad that they have identify the cause the contamination. she doesn’t want to leave him alone in the house. but she has to attend to the sick miners. Martin asks her to go, she kiss him and leave.
Pierre comes to Martin’s house to deliver a fax to Veronica. Martin isn’t pleased to see him. he asks Pierre to hand over the fax to him. he informs him Veronica is at the church attending to the sick miners. he tells Pierre his excuse to see his wife this time didn’t work. Pierre says Touché! Martin rudely asks Pierre to leave his house. he asks him to stop running after his wife. Pierre get angry and tells him he came to Mina Escondida to see how he could help the miners. he admits that Veronica is a very beautiful woman. he tells Martin instead of being jealous of him. he should rather treats Veronica like the woman she is. because she is not the type to put up with his bad behavior. Martin is left restless and speechless. Pierre runs into Veronica and informs about the conversation he had with Martin. he apologizes for causing trouble in her marriage again. she thanked him for his help. she tells him despite her husband behavior she loves him and want to save the marriage. he kisses her hand and leave. Virginia enters Emiliano’s room and propose they go archery. Emiliano is glad to go with her because since Veronica left. he hasn’t been there, Martin reads the letter Claudia sent him. she inform him of her arrival with a doctor. Veronica enters and asks for the fax her uncle sent her. he asks her how she got to know about the fax or did Pierre go and see her. she tells him she saw him on her way to church. she tells him not to be jealous. she assures him she loves only him and kiss him. she then asks for her fax and he teasingly refuses to show it to her. she finally takes it from him. Lorenza, Cresencio , Joaquin and other mines search for the broken filter.

Veronica tells Martin she is glad Dr. Fernandez is coming over to check on him. Martin playfully asks her if she doesn’t trust Dr. Nancyiaga. she tells him she is grateful to Nancyiaga for saving his life, and kiss him. Martin seem to be enjoying this moment with his wife. only for Veronica to bring up Demetrio. Martin suddenly wear his serious face. he tells her it not the time to talk about Demetrio. they already have a lot of problem at the moment. he tells Veronica things are getting worse to the extent that he has to rely on the construction company money. Veronica offers to give him the money Jorge gave her as a wedding gift. Joaquin tries to calm Lorenzo and Cresencio down. Manuel appears drunk, his grandfather and Joaquin scold him. Joaquin asks him to think about the sick miners. he rudely replies that whether the miners died or not he doesn’t care. Joaquin get angry and threatens him. Martin reproaches Veronica for accepting the money without telling him. she tells him Jorge insisted on giving it to her as a wedding gift there is nothing she could have done. Martin get angry and argue again. this time Veronica is tired of the way he has been treating her. since they got married they haven’t been intimate yet she doesn’t complain. he is always pushing her away and offending her. if he doesn’t want her anymore. she will wait until the mine issues is solved then she will leave. Martin begs her to no leave. she doesn’t understand why he doesn’t want her to help him. she remind him of the vow they took. the money Jorge gave her also belong to him. he still doesn’t want her money because he doesn’t want the Prado Castello to think he is a gold digger.

Polo compliment Veronica on her beauty and introduces himself to her. Raymunda overhears Veronica tells Blanquita that Ana Perla came to her house with Pablo. she asks Veronica about the details. Veronica assures her not all visitors have bad intention. she offers to shakes her hands. Matilde advises Emiliano to stop drinking if not he may become alcoholic. Virginia tries to convince Jorge not to see his doctor but he insists she goes this time. Claudia and Daniel finally made it to the Pueblo Nuevo. Claudia take advantage of the heat and tries to seduce him.
Virginia paces at the hospital’s reception. Salma asks her to calm down. Virginia adds some drops in a cup of water and drinks it. Raymunda advises Ana Perla not to trust Pablo. that her grandfather has his own reason for telling her that. Magdalena and Botel meet the private Investigator for an update. a sketch artist joins them and tells Magdalena he can use her daughter pictures and some of Magdalena features to sketch her daughter. to know how she could look like now. Father Juan tries to convince Martin that Veronica isn’t the gold digger he said she was. that is if she was may be love changed her. the sketch artist shows the pictures to Magdalena. she is shocked to see that her lost daughter may look exactly like Veronica.
