Severiano asks him nothing and Christobal confirmed nothing. Severiano laughs and tells him he saw her kissing Father Jeronimo. Severiano tells him she was crying to Dominga because the priest is leaving to town. She also confessed to him that the priest is the love of her life and as he husband he could not tolerate it. Christobal reminds him she also tolerated his affair with Roberta and all the other women. He warns his father not to ever touch his mother again if not he will have to deal with him. Candela tries to take the blame for what happen but Christobal tells her Severiano said he saw them kissing, Candela tells him he is exaggerating. Father Jeronimo didn’t do anything, she kissed him when she heard he is leaving town. She tells him all thanks to his father; he went to report him to the bishop.
Renato informs Humberto about Aldonza intention to put El Santuario in Emmanuel’s name but Humberto refuses. Renato gives him his will and Humberto asks him to start with his divorce process. Prudencia console Valeria and suggest she abort the child. Severiano interrupts father Jeronimo and Tomas conversation; he reminds the priest that Candela is still his wife. He lashes the priest’s face and turns to leave, Tomas tries to confront him but the priest holds him back. The priest asks Severiano to get out of his church, Severiano smiles and leave. Tomas sees the blood on the priest’s face and once again tries to go after Severiano but the priest holds him. Severiano comes out of the church and Don Antonio grabs him and holds him against the wall in the dark. Don Antonio threatens to kill him like the dog that he is, in the dark with no witness just like the way he raped his sister. He points his gun at Severiano’s throat, and tells his death will also be like all the crime he committed. The police will stop investigating because the will be no evidence, Severiano begs him not to. Don Antonio asks him to go on his knee and begs for his life.
